1. Introduction
Search eBiblio is a browser extension (Safari, Chrome and Firefox) that searches the selected text in your region's eBiblio catalog. It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
2. Data collection
Search eBiblio collects no data at all:
- No analytics or telemetry
- No crash reports
- No user accounts
- No tracking of any kind
- No servers of its own
3. Local storage
The extension only stores your preferences (libraries shown in the context menu and your default library) using your browser's extension storage (browser.storage.sync). Your browser may sync these preferences across your devices (iCloud in Safari, your Google account in Chrome, or your Mozilla account in Firefox); they are never accessible to the developer.
4. Searches
When you search, the extension opens your region's public eBiblio website (https://<region>.ebiblio.es) with the selected text as the query — exactly as if you had typed it yourself. From that point on, your browsing is governed by the privacy policies of eBiblio and your regional library. The extension does not see, intercept, or store your eBiblio session, credentials, loans, or history.
5. Permissions
- Selected text: only read when you invoke the extension (context menu, keyboard shortcut, or popup). It never reads pages in the background.
- Context menus: to show the "Search on eBiblio" option.
- Storage: to save your preferences.
6. Third-party services
None. No analytics SDKs, no ads, no trackers.
